Make sure you do these 3 things after getting a great review

During a month known for giving thanks – it’s time to talk about online reviews once again. Customer feedback is a topic we’ve covered multiple times – from the importance of solid testimonials, to how to get more of them, and the right ways to respond to a negative comment.

This time, we’re only focused on the positive – as in what to do when you get a glowing recommendation from an appreciative customer or partner. After all, positive reviews are like golden nuggets, helping prospective clients make informed decisions by shining a bright light on what you and your team do to stand out.    

Acknowledge and appreciate the feedbackResponding to positive reviews conveys a genuine expression of gratitude. It demonstrates that you value your clients and their opinions. A simple “Thank you for your kind words” can go a long way in fostering goodwill. Plus, by actively responding to all feedback, you confirm the authenticity of these reviews and showcase your dedication to maintaining a stellar reputation with all your customers.

Make sure the right people see it. Kind words of all types should be celebrated by everyone involved, but it’s especially important that anyone who is mentioned directly (by name or otherwise) actually receives the compliment intended for them. Sharing is caring, after all, and it’s always good to hear that a job was done well. 

Use the review to tell your story in other places, too. Don’t let a good review just sit there. Share it with your friends, customers and potential clients. Broadcast it on social media, consider adding it to your website (especially if you already have a section for that) and even consider going back to the person and recording their thoughts as a video testimonial. It’s often said that happy customers are ready and willing to be a company’s best advocate. We should let them.
